Claire Johnson is a professional health and safety consultant based in Canterbury. With many years of experience in workplace health and safety, Claire has the proven ability to successfully embed a health and safety culture into her client’s companies.
 

Having the hands-on experience coming from trade to managing HSQE for large organisations it has helped her understand that what is written in a company’s policy and procedure may not always be practical. Claire believes having the hands-on approach and getting buy-in from workers is critical to a successful health and safety system in any company.

Claire holds a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety level 6 (through S.IT). Claire is graded on the HASANZ register, has been graded through NZISM to Graduate, she is also the Branch Manager for NZISM Canterbury. Along with her formal qualifications Claire has also completed NZQA Certified Collector (urine sampling & instant testing), ICAM Accident and Investigation, Risk Management & Hazard Awareness, Working at Heights, Confined Space, 

Asbestos Awareness, Fire Warden and Fire Extinguisher Training, Chemical Handling and Spill Management.

In Claire’s spare time she is out on her mountain bike around Canterbury or pitching a tent in the wilderness. Having the perfect work-life balance is very important.
